I know you see what’s happening. A lot of people are worried about businesses and looting. Giant corporations are fine. They’re insured for it. No need to worry about them just because you cannot quench your need for excessive consumption. They don’t give a damn about you or their workers by paying them a low means of living while the CEO sits on top with millions in his pocket pulling strings. More money has gone into those pockets during this pandemic. I say this first because of some white people I am “friends” with on this platform…
Dolemite is his name and fucking up motherfuckers is his game!
It reigns true as Eddie Murphy makes a triumphant return to comedy by portraying the legendary comedian Rudy Ray Moore in the 2019 Netflix film, “Dolemite Is My Name.” The film had its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7th of this year and later to Netflix on October 25th. It’s absolute perfection and with the making of the biopic, no one else could ever do this part justice as much as Murphy did. He has been wanting for years to pay homage to Moore…
(Mild Spoilers Ahead)
Trust me, less is more. So much more. Within its three-hour timeframe, “It Chapter Two” attempts to be overly complex and frightening to remain loyal to the 1986 Stephen King novel and outdo its predecessor. This sequel is not so gracious, and the film ends up becoming this overstuffed and inconsistent mess that cannot keep up with itself. The potential for “Chapter Two” to be great and possibly exceed expectations built from the first was ultimately overshadowed by the imbalance of the characters’ emotions and throws you off guard. …
The marvelous Netflix television series GLOW or the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling is based from the true professional wrestling circuit of the late 1980s in Los Angeles and a 2012 documentary highlighting the actresses and the production of their show. The series is the brainchild of Liz Flahive (writing credits: Nurse Jackie, Homeland, Captain Marvel) and Carly Mensch (Weeds, Nurse Jackie, and Orange Is the New Black). I highly recommended watching the documentary or even the pilot of the original show available on YouTube beforehand. Here’s the video:

For a character to grow stronger and be intrinsically human, it means putting them through challenges and seeing them evolve somehow. Whether it be good or bad, the character internalizes the problem and eventually learns a lesson. It’s not a whole hero’s journey, but the intention should be for them to evolve and become a better person.
But are some so damaged beyond repair to the point they are incapable of change?
In the long-awaited fourth season of Veronica Mars, it seems to be. It’s a hard season to get through due to her inability to become empathetic and her…
All my life there was this feeling that I need to tell stories. Not just the stories I curate myself but pass down the ones I hear from my favorite authors, films, and television shows. I am going after something I never thought I would have the courage to. I am slowly letting go of the fear that the work I will produce is never going to be good enough. It might not be, but I just have to do it. If not, I will never get better and seize the opportunity to grow as an artist.
Hmm, an artist?

A couple of months ago my sister and I went to Ellis Island for the first time. During my time there I began to realize some things about our society and how we perceive experiences.
One thing about me is that I am college student. A student whose paradigm comes from the sociological and philosophical perspectives. What I saw at Ellis Island had saddened me to my core. It’s not the history that got me down, but frankly the people who do not take the history seriously enough to respect it.
I feel more than ever I need to let…
I talk too much in class, so this is my outlet for unresolved discussion.
